My academic and career goals stem from my military experience, which is to offer public service and quality leadership to young adults. I intend on using my leadership experiences and my communication skills to teach at the secondary education level. There is a large demand for male high school teachers, and I want to commit to this profession. Completing my master's program from Gonzaga University will strengthen my Jesuit principles of serving and educating the community. Through this communication and leadership program, I look forward to sharpening my skills and becoming a wholehearted leader that nurtures the

dignity of all people.
Throughout my Army career, I have served in various leadership positions where I have developed a passion for teaching and mentoring people. In each position, I was privileged to work among great leaders and special people during challenging times. These opportunities illuminate how important the power of influence and encouragement can be to overcome adversity and to achieve personal goals. After my military service, I am committed to sharing mental models, creativity, optimism, and other means of positive influence to cultivate lifelong learning.

As a high school teacher, making a positive impact is also making a lifelong impact. I look forward to this challenge and opportunity. I am confident that I will connect with students and build on their academic development and adulthood aspirations. Like my leadership philosophy in the Army, I will use a growth-mindset approach to teaching and empathy towards individual circumstances. I believe that people have varying levels of aptitude, however, using effective means of pedagogy, everyone can achieve academic success.
Furthermore, as a high school teacher, I intend on being involved in activities outside of the classroom.
"I am confident that I can provide the same servant leadership and influence through education to our future leaders."
Community engagement and public service are important to my Jesuit values. I aspire to take part in athletics and scholarly clubs to promote teamwork, teambuilding, holistic fitness, and creative inquiry. It is important to foster an environment of spirit, culture, values, and ethical reasoning. These elements of mentorship have guided me throughout my professional and academic career with remarkable success. I am confident that I can provide the same servant leadership and influence through education to our future leaders.
